I work with windows. I prefer Linux, but because most of my favorite games are for Windows I run windows at home as well.

    I voted linux because:

    - It's open source
    - It has no restrictions (in terms of restrictions in the microsoft-way)
    - Security over user-friendlyness (although some linux-distros has become very user-friendly the last few years, developers have not given a damn about security (now I can hide my porn pics from my younger brothers ))
    - There are many different distributions, but the performance is not necessarily different.

Well I'm a 50/50 - I voted for Linux because I think they have really good program design, but I'd prefer to use Windows just because, like my evil twin (Sean345) said, it's a lot more widespread.

Ive always used windows, and have recently just started using Linux, but I would love to someday have a computer with Linux as the only OS.

Either. I really prefer real UNIX, such as BSD,or my favorite: Solaris

But If I have to choose between them two, I would take windows, because there's a little bit of everything in it (concerning software)

Moemen Ahmed, open source means that you can view and even get the source-code of the software.

I'm using a lot of operating systems and I have no real preference. Each has its aspects which make it more useful, not necessarily better, for specific tasks. For example, having Windows run on your machine is useful because there is a huge amount of software for that OS. But for use in an embedded device I would prefer an OS like VxWorks, QNX or OS9000.

    Linux, why?

Windows is not modular, and thats bad programming practice. MS, even claimed modularity with windows was impossible!! So, my vote goes to Linux.

NOTE: if you don't believe me read their statements in the anti-trust case with the 9 states, don't ask me cause i'm not hunting it down for you, or supporting any kind of arguement.
